Queenstown Southern Paradise


Queenstown is undisputedly the number one place to visit while in the South Island of New Zealand, located in the southern region of Otago there are numerous activities and places to explore through out the area.

The Queenstown lakes district covers a huge area of around 9,000 square kilometers and includes three stunning lakes, Lake Hawera which covers around 140 square kilometers and around 390 meters deep.

Lake Whakatipu which is New Zealand's longest lake at around 80 KMs and is the central hub of Queenstown and Lake Wanaka which is the gateway to the stunning Mount Aspiring National Park.

Queenstown is popular for all sorts of reasons there are water activities available on all the lakes like fishing water skiing and lake cruises, skiing during the season in the Mount Aspiring National Park and a host of hiking tracks dotted through out the area. 

Queenstown Food And Wine

The Queenstown food and wine scene provides a wide range of gastronomic experiences and is best tackled with your taste buds, there are award wining restaurants and fine dining establishments through out the area, you could try one of the areas delicious burgers, grab a dessert at one of the local shops or dine out in style at a local restaurant. 

Explore Queenstown's wine scene, the area is renowned for its award wining wines or you could book a tour with one of the many Vineyard and winery tours in the region where you can taste and buy the award winning Pinot Noir. 

Take A Cruise On Lake Wakatipu

Glenorchy And Arrowtown

Arrowtown is a fantastic historical place to visit located around twenty minuts from Queenstown, Arrowtown was established during the gold rush of last century and to this day is still remains a vibrant place to visit, Arrowtown is home to the lakes district museum and art gallery which displays the area’s gold history and relics from the era.

Glenorchy is around a forty five minute drive from Queenstown, this area features a beautiful native beech forest and stunning mountain ranges, there are walks and hiking trails scattered through out the area making this a great place for outdoor enthusiast’s to explore there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy, from horse riding the many trails, trout fishing on the river and lakes.

Queenstown Mountain Biking

Queenstown is home to some of the most spectacular mountain bike trails in New Zealand, the most popular trail is the Queenstown trail, this mountain bike trail is a great way to see many of regions attractions, there are mountain bike rides to suit a wide range of people and experience there lakeside rides where you can relax and take in the scenery at a slow pace to winery and vineyard tours.
